A: Get rid of your junk! Travel, unlike before, has become relatively inexpensive. With resources like Ebay, Let Go and so many others you can easily do away with anything you no longer use. Start with things you haven’t used in the last 6 months and see yourself not using in the next 6 months. Doing so will allow you to gather funds for your next big adventure. Go ahead. A: Book in advance. According to Condé Nast you should be booking flights 57 days in advance for domestic travel and 117 for international. Roxana usually checks Google Flights since they give you a great visual with a calendar that includes the cheapest cost of a flight for every day of the month. Once Roxana identifies the cheapest flights available, she goes to a website that offers her a price guarantee or assurance to get the most for her buck. Expedia and Orbitz offer different variations of this. Many times they will offer the same deal found on google flights. If not, then Roxana books directly with the airline referred to on google flights.

A: Various – Educate Yourself. There are an array of countries that are perfectly safe for any of us to travel to. However, many countries are impacted by current events. Therefore, your best bet is to visit the State Departments U.S. International Travels and Passports website to find out about possible travel alerts or warnings. Also, make sure you register for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) available on their website. It will notify the in-country U.S. Embassy of your arrival and length of travel. This will be important in case anything happens in the country during your travels. It will help them can track you down and ensure your safety.
